The annual Tipperary Solicitors Bar Association team building weekend  for 2016 is proposed for Rome, Italy this September.

Accommodation this year will be in the 4-star Domus Romana Hotel  which has a convenient location in the centre of Rome City, capital of Italy, situated on the Via delle Quattro Fontane just off Via Nazionale.

A restored 17th century convent, the Domus Romana Hotel has 47 inviting rooms and 19 spacious family apartments, retaining much of the rich architectural details and also has a pretty inner courtyard and fountain. TOUR 3 – €108pp

Ancient Rome: Skip the Line Colosseum, Palatine Hill, Roman Forum Half day Morning Tour – Comprehensive guided tour of the most significant sites of Ancient Rome including skip the line entrance to the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and Roman Forum.

The Tour

The tour starts with a panoramic view of the Colosseum from Colle Oppio before skipping the queue to enter the most symbolic of Rome’s landmarks. An expert local guide will bring the bloody past of the amphitheatre to life as you listen to tales of gladiators, mock sea-battles and executions. You when then stop at the Arch of Constantine before entering the complex of the Palatine Hill – the most famous of Rome’s hills. Romulus and Remus, the legendary founders of the city, were said to have been found here by the she-wolf who nursed and raised them. The last stop of the tour is a walk along the “Via Sacra” inside the Roman Forum and the tour ends at the Temple, which houses the altar where Julius Caesar was cremated. Duration of tour: 3 hours

Please note: This is a walking tour and comfortable shoes or trainers are recommended. Tour departs punctually and late-comers will not be able to catch up with the tour. Please note that large bags/backpacks/suitcases are not permitted in the Colosseum and Roman Forum. Only very small bags are allowed. Please do not bring these items with you on the day of your tour as there are no cloakrooms at the Colosseum.

Baroque Rome and Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica – This is a complete city sightseeing that will let you discover the highlights of the Eternal city and will let you admire Vatican Museums, Saint Peter’s Basilica and Sistine Chapel masterpieces. Duration of tour: 9 hours

The Tour

This is a combination of two tours, Highlights of Baroque Rome: Caravaggio and Bernini and Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel’s and Saint Peter’s Basilica. Departing from your hotel centrally located, we will start with the Spanish Steps. Moving next to Piazza Navona, enjoying a nice walk through the streets of the Capital. Discover secrets and legends of the most popular stairway of the world, background of many Hollywood movies. Enjoy the 18th century atmosphere of the Square with the beautiful Barcaccia, fountain designed by Bernini father and son. Then head to Trevi Fountain: the imposing set for the Oscar winner movie by Fellini La Dolce Vita, icon of the Italian sixties and beloved by visitors for the coin throwing tradition. The Tour will continue with a stop at the Pantheon, once Temple dedicated to all the Gods, converted later in a Catholic Church. We will continue visiting Church of St. Louis of the French with Caravaggio masterpiece. The tour ends in Piazza Navona square with the splendid Fontana dei Quattro Fiumi by Bernini. After lunch break included, you will be ready to start second tour. With our Skip the line entrance ticket, our expert guide will lead you into the museums where you will visit one of the most important art collections in the world. Admire the Gallery of Tapestries and the Geographical Maps before arriving at the famous Sistine Chapel. After the Sistine Chapel you will be taken to St.Peter’s Basilica, skipping long lines.
